Carving

Carving on fruit and vegetables has arisen as art in east cookery as a part of philosophy of the relationship to the visitor. The term «carving» is used internationally to designate artistic carving on a broad variety of materials.
The art of fruit and vegetable carving originated in the Far East, but over the millennia has become part of many national traditions. It requires a great deal of mastery, which has been passed from generation to generation since the dim and distant past. In different countries of the East carving is based on various techniques that differ greatly.

The big role in European carving belongs to Alla Mishina, thanking its excessive works, searches of masters all over the world, working out of knifes for simplification of a cutting of masterpieces on vegetables and fruit and publishing books and educational films.
Alla Mishina has created the Carving Academy of Russia where she is the president, the author of numerous educational books on carving with disks and sets of knifes.

Very important day for Carving Academy became on September, 9th, 2010. We became corporate members WACS.
The introduction «Carving Academy» in WACS is a natural step to recognition of successes of the Russian masters of this direction.
